Erika Bo nasce a Lucca, il 17/7/1979. Dopo la maturità scientifica, ha conseguito la laurea in Filosofia, presso l’Università degli Studi di Pisa. Ha avuto come maestro d’arte il padre, pittore e fotografo. Dipinge ad olio in bianco e nero si esprime attraverso un “figurativo” essenziale, cercando semplicemente la Bellezza, o, filosoficamente parlando, la “Sostanza”, spogliando i soggetti di tutte le contingenze, come lo sfondo e il colore e cercando l’equilibrio perfetto tra il bianco e il nero.

Donne dal corpo perfetto, dal volto perfetto, in movenze morbide e poste in scenari indefiniti, ma sicuramente fuori dal reale. Il bianco e nero e i particolari che rendono i suoi soggetti in una dimensione senza tempo e senza spazio descrivono perfettamente la carica espressiva dell’artista che sfumando i contorni dei volti e donando un tratto etereo agli scenari che compongono i suoi dipinti ricrea un’atmosfera onirica di grande impatto. Erika, forse grazie agli studi di filosofia, esprime mediante i volti a tratti severi e astratti sognanti dei suoi soggetti la molteplicità delle forme e dei pensieri femminili in un sapiente connubio di introspezione, profondità e acume. I suoi soggetti non sono soltanto caratterizzati da forme perfette e movimenti sinuosi, ma rappresentano costantemente l’ampiezza della mente, la molteplicità di interrogativi e sensazioni interiori poste al vaglio, la ricerca e il fantasticare su mondi adatti ad esprimere il proprio essere. Non scopriamo una dimensione ideale per l’espressione e la realizzazione di queste figure, ma la dimensione in cui loro si manifestano sono luoghi di pura astrazione, luoghi interiori non raggiungibili se non mediante le opere. La sensualità e la bellezza, accompagnata da sguardi seducenti e talvolta conturbanti sono un chiaro invito a lasciarsi coinvolgere all’interno dell’opera, a lasciarsi portare senza remore in quel mondo sognante della mente e dell’attrazione che non sempre si manifesta come concreto e definito.

Erika Bo was born in Lucca on the 17th of July 1979. After graduating from a scientific high school, she got a degree in Philosophy at the university of Pisa. Her father was also he art teacher, he was a painter and photographer. She paints with oil in black and white, expressing herself with an essential figurative style, searching for a simple beauty, or, philosophically speaking, “substance”, freeing all her subjects from their surroundings, like the background and colour looking for the perfect balance between black and white.

Women with perfect bodies, perfect faces, and soft lines who have been place in undefined contexts, distant from reality. The black and the White along with all the other details give her subjects a dimension which is free both from time and space and express the artists energy. All together these give her works an oniric atmosphere of great impact. Erika, maybe because of her philosophy studies, is able to represent different stages of female emotion, sometimes strict, sometime abstract dreamers, with a balance of introspective thinking, depth, and acumen. Her subjects are not only characterised by perfect shapes and movements but also express the depth of the human mind, the endless questioning and sensations, research and imagining other worlds in which one can express ones inner most essence. We don’t discover an ideal dimension for expression and to create these figures, but a dimension which is a purely abstract location, interior to ones emotions and reachable only through art. beauty and sensual charge, along with glances which range from flirtatious to perturbing, are a clear invite to allow oneself to be involved within the work of art, being transported to the world of a dreamy mind and attraction which rarely manifests itself as clear and well defined.

Erika Bo wurde am 17. Juli 1979 in Lucca geboren. Nachdem sie ihr Abitur am naturwissenschaftlichesGymnasium gemacht hatte, studierte sie Philosophie an der Universität Pisa. Ihr Lehrer war ihr Vater, der selbst Maler und Fotograf war.
Ihre Ölmalerei ist durch Schwarz-Weiß-Töne gekennzeichnet und findet ihren Ausdruck in der figurativen Essenz. In ihrer Kunst sucht sie das Schöne, oder, philosophisch gesagt, die “Essenz”, und, um das zu tun, befreit sie das Subjekt von jeder Kontingenz.

Sie zeichnet Frauen mit perfektem Körper und perfektem Gesicht, die sich leicht und sanft in einem undefinierten und surrealen Kontext bewegen. Der Mangel an Farbe, die Details, die die Subjekte in einer Umgebung ohne Zeit und Raum tauchen, zeigen die Ausdrucksfähigkeit der Künstlerin, deren Bilder stets durch eine Traumatmosphäre gekennzeichnet sind. In den manchmal streng und manchmal träumerisch schauenden Gesichtern ihrer Figuren drückt Erika Bo gleichzeitig Introspektion, Tiefe und Geistesschärfe aus. Ihre Figuren stellen die Weite des Verstands, die Vielfalt der inneren Fragen und Gefühle, die Suche und das Fantasieren über Welten dar, in denen man sich ausdrücken kann.

Diese Figuren befinden sich an abstrakten Orten, die sich außerhalb der Realität befinden und nur durch das Kunstwerk erreichbar sind. Die Sinnlichkeit und Schönheit dieser Gestalten, ihre verführerischen und manchmal beunruhigenden Blicke sind eine  Einladung, in diese Traumwelt, in die Innerlichkeit, die sich nicht immer konkret und klar zeigt, einzutauchen.
