Thoma Figuretti (al secolo Massimo Figuretti) nasce a Roma il 17 giugno del 1963.

Frequenta l’Istituto Statale d’Arte Roma I°, Scuola romana che all’epoca aveva tra gli altri, insegnanti come Eliseo Mattiacci e Achille Pace. Si diploma prima come Maestro d’Arte conseguendo poi, due anni dopo, la Maturità Artistica.

Intorno al 1980, giovanissimo, entra a far parte del Gruppo denominato “Collettivo d’Espressione Artistica“ esponendo opere in collettiva nelle piazze di diverse cittadine del Lazio. Intorno al 1987 si avvicina al gruppo Plexus di Roma, e parallelamente comincia la sua attività di illustratore e grafico. Totalmente assorbito da quest’ultima, lavora presso diversi studi grafici della capitale, per poi aprire una agenzia propria (studio grafico Stuart) nel 1990.

Nel 1992 fonda una asssociazione culturale (Mentelocale) e pubblica una rivista con approfondimenti artistici e culturali che si chiama come l’associazione stessa, in questa rivista pubblica alcuni scritti anche l’allora giovane regista Paolo Virzì. Naturalmente vengono promosse delle mostre a cui partecipa. Nel 1998 si trasferisce a Bergamo, qui oltre a lavorare come illustratore e Art Director in diverse agenzie di pubblicità e grafica editoriale, comincia una nuova e più costante attività pittorica. Dopo una mostra presso Artepiù (intitolata “Esposizione Minima“) espone nel 2002 una personale a Piazza mercato delle Scarpe in Città Alta intitolata “Gente Distratta“ per poi esporre, qualche anno dopo, una personale presso la galleria Borgo d’oro Arte intitolata “Percorsi“. La ricerca quasi ossessiva della forma e della materia lo portano nel 2012 a concentrarsi sulla produzione di mosaici. Quest’ultimi realizzati utilizzando tessere di mosaico direttamente create dallo stesso (dalla creazione in creta della mattonella base, la cottura, la colorazione attraverso la tecnica dell’ingobbio o dello smalto a freddo, alla scomposizione attraverso utensili di vario tipo in piccole forme diverse). La tecnica del mosaico lo ha portato anche a sperimentare con altri materiali utili a questa tecnica come il vetro colorato o la pasta di vetro. Attualmente è Art Director e titolare dell’agenzia “Studio Figuretti Graficus“, direttore artistico della manifestazione musicale denominata “Redona Suona“ e Direttore Artistico del Bergamo Beatles Festival.

Thoma Figuretti (nee Massimo Figuretti) was born in Rome on 17th June 1963.
He studied at the Rome Institute of Art, a Roman school which at the time had teachers like Eliseo Mattiacci and Achille Pace. He graduates first as a master of art and secondly, two years later he completes his artistic diploma.

In around 1980, still very young, he becomes a member of the “Collettivo d’Espressione Artistica” a group of artist with whom he exhibits some of his works in the squares of some cities and towns in Lazio. In 1987 he moves closer to the Plexis group from Rome, while simultaneously starting his career as an illustrator and graphic designer. In this role he worls for many studies around Rome until he opens his own (studio grafico Stuart) in 1990.

in 1992 he start a cultural association called Mentelocale, with it’s own self titled magazine about art and culture. Even the young director Paolo Virzi published some articles in the magazine. He also uses it as a method to promote his exhibitions. In 1998 he moves to Bergamo here, other than working as an illustrator and Art Director for local advertising companies, he begins a new and constant painting activity. His exhibition with Artepiù (Esposizione Minima) is followed in 2002 by an individual exhibition in Piazza Mercato delle Scarpe in Bergamo’s Città Alta called “Gente Distratta” (Distracted People), followed a couple of years later by an individual exhibition with the Borgo d’Oro Arte Gallery called “Percorsi” (Paths). His near obsessive search for shapes and material will bring him to 2012 year in which he start to dedicate himself to mosaics. The tiles used for the mosaic are all made by the artist himself in every step of the procedure. Starting from mosaic he began to experiment with other materials such as molten glass and glass paste. He currently works as Art Director and owner of the “Studio Figuretti Graficus” agency, and musical director of both the “Redona Suona” and the “Bergamo Beatles Festival” music events.

Thoma Figuretti (in Wahrheit Massimo Figuretti) wurde am 17. Juni 1963 geboren.
Er besucht in Rom ein Gymnasium mit Schwerpunkt Kunst, in der u.a. auch Eliseo Mattiacci und Achille Pace unterrichteten, und macht dort das Abitur.
Im Jahr 1980 mit nur 17 Jahren wurde er Mitglied der Gruppe “Collettivo d’Espressione Artistica”. Dadurch hatte er die Möglichkeit, seine Kunstwerke in mehreren Städten in der Region Lazio auszustellen. Im Jahr 1987 nähert er sich der Gruppe Plexus in Rom an und fängt an als Illustrator und Grafiker zu arbeiten. Er arbeitet sehr viel in den Grafikbüros der Hauptstadt, um dann im Jahr 1990 selbstständig zu werden (Grafikbüro Stuart).
In Jahr 1992 gründet er einem Kulturverein (Mentelocale) und veröffentlicht eine Zeitschrift, die Kunst und Kultur als Hauptthemen hat und die sich, wie der Verein selbst, „Mentelocale“ nennt. Der damals noch junge Regisseur Paolo Virzì hat in dieser Zeitschrift einige seiner Werke veröffentlicht. Natürlich nimmt der Künstler auch an Ausstellungen teil. Im Jahr 1998 zieht er nach Bergamo um, wo er als Illustrator und Art Director in mehreren Werbeagenturen arbeitet. Außerdem fängt er an, mehr und anders zu malen. Nachdem er an der Ausstellung Artepiù teilgenommen hat (die den Namen “Esposizione Minima“ trägt) macht er im Jahr 2002 eine eigene Ausstellung an der „Piazza mercato delle Scarpe“ in Bergamo. Die Ausstellung heißt “Gente Distratta”. Einige Jahre später, stellt er “Persorsi” in der Gallerie „Borgo d’oro Arte“ aus. Seine ständige Suche nach Form und Materie führt dazu, dass er sich im Jahr 2012 für Mosaiken zu interessieren beginnt. Auch probiert er andere Materialien aus, wie farbiges Glas oder Glasfaser. Im Moment ist er Art Director und Leiter der Agentur “Studio Figuretti Graficus”, künstlerischer Leiter der musikalischen Veranstaltung “Redona Suona” sowiedes Bergamo Beatles Festivals.
